This Privacy Policy describes how Friendern collects, uses, discloses, and protects your information when you use our app and services.

1. Information We Collect

You provide: account details (name, email, phone), profile content (bio, photos, videos), payment-related info (via payment partners), age confirmation, KYC documents (for creators), preferences.

Automatically: device and app identifiers, IP address, country/approx. location, crash logs, usage analytics (screens viewed, features used), cookies/SDK signals.

During calls/streams: session metadata (participants, timestamps, coins spent/earned). If you enable recording or captions/translation, audio/video and text may be processed to deliver that feature.

From third parties: payment processors (transaction status), identity verification vendors (verification results), analytics providers.

2. How We Use Information

  • Provide and operate Friendern (accounts, calls, streams, gifts, payouts).
  • Safety, moderation, fraud prevention, and enforcement of our Terms.
  • Payments, tax, and compliance (KYC/AML).
  • Improve performance, quality, and features (including AI translation/captions).
  • Communicate about updates, security, promotions (you can opt out of marketing).
  • Legal obligations and legitimate interests (e.g., defending claims, auditing).

3. Legal Bases (e.g., GDPR)

  • Performance of a contract.
  • Legitimate interests (safety, fraud prevention, improvement).
  • Consent (optional features like marketing, certain analytics, recordings, or precise location).
  • Compliance with legal obligations.

4. Sharing & Disclosures

We may share information with:

  • Payment & payout processors (e.g., Stripe/Flutterwave/Paystack; Apple/Google in-app billing).
  • Hosting, storage, analytics, crash reporting, and communications vendors.
  • Identity verification & compliance partners (KYC/AML, sanctions screening).
  • Moderation & safety tools (content scanning where permitted by law).
  • Law enforcement or regulators when legally required.
  • Business transfers (merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets).

We do not sell personal information. We may share aggregated or de-identified data.

5. AI, Translation & Recordings

If you enable captions/translation or a session is recorded (with applicable consent), audio/video and text may be processed by Friendern and/or trusted processors to provide the feature. We strive to minimize retention and use access controls. Transcripts and recordings, if saved, appear in your account or creator dashboard per your settings and regional laws.

6. International Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries outside your own. We use appropriate safeguards (e.g., data processing agreements, standard contractual clauses) where required.

7. Data Retention

We keep data only as long as necessary to provide the Services and for legitimate business needs (including legal, tax, and anti-fraud requirements). You can request deletion; some data may be retained where law requires or for safety and dispute resolution.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Submit requests to privacy@friendern.app. We may need to verify your identity.

9. Children

Friendern is for adults (18+) only. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a minor is using the Service, contact us.

10. Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards (encryption in transit, access controls, monitoring). No system is 100% secure; you are also responsible for protecting your account.

11. Marketing & Communications

You can manage marketing preferences in-app or via the unsubscribe link. Service and transactional notices (security, receipts) are required communications.

12. Third-Party Links & Apps

Content or links from third parties are governed by their own policies. We are not responsible for third-party practices.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
